Statement of intent 2.0

The brief has asked me to create an entertainment music magazine., targeting 14-18 year olds. I am creating a music magazine with the genre of rock/rap; the magazine will be called 'Black Rhythm'.

The black is the rock side of the magazine and rhythm is the slower more relaxed rap side. The masthead will be big bold with a sharp locking font. The color scheme will be black, gold and red, which conforms to my genre and connotes a dark but with a light twist feel like rap mixed with rock.

It will be aimed at 14-18 year old males and females; my magazine will include all of the top hits of this genre for that week, along with all of the biggest news and artists. The USP will be a weekly chart of the best songs and their artists. The location for the photos will contribute to construct that dark rock but also that rap image. It will do this by using alleyways or parks at night, along with People in dark areas at night with a high sensitivity camera. This conforms to my genre and connotes a being rude and a rebel.

I aim to challenge the stereotype’s of my genre such as rock music is only for white males and rap is only for black males. They will not conform in what they wear.  They will do this by not being all dressed in black with make up on and have dyed hair. Instead I will dress my artists in unconventional clothing to show originality.

I aim to appeal to my target audience, by using images of places they would be and clothing they would want to wear. Along with a font that is sharp and catches their attention by using colures that they would like.

- double pay spread, what's the article about?
- anything about your audience research?
